De Pasquale leads opening Sandown 500 practice

On-track action at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 is underway, as Supercars teams and drivers hit the track in the penultimate round of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship season.

Homegrown driver Anton De Pasquale led the 30-minute session in his No. 18 Cub Cadet Chevrolet Camaro.

The session was largely uneventful, with just one red flag disruption for debris.

Chaz Mostert – who swept the weekend on the Gold Coast last time out – was second fastest in the session, followed by De Pasquale’s teammate David Reynolds in third.

Ford drivers Brodie Kostecki and James Courtney rounded out the top five.

A second 30-minute practice session of the weekend begins at 3:55 p.m., the final practice session of the weekend for Supercars.

It will be a pivotal final session for the seven Supercars Finalists, of which only four will advance to the bp Adelaide Grand Final in a fortnight.
