Cassidy and Hirakawa to start 7th in Super GT opener

KeePer TOM’s Lexus LC500 drivers Nick Cassidy and Ryo Hirakawa will start from seventh on the grid at the opening round of the 2019 Super GT Series in Japan.

Pole position for the Okyama GT 300km race went to the No. 23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (Nissan) driven by Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli. Nissan locked out the front row with the #12 CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R of James Rossiter and Daiki Sasaki second fastest.

Following in 3rd position was last year’s Okayama race winners, the No. 17 KEIHIN NSX-GT (Koudai Tsukakoshi/Bertrand Baguette) team, which means that two Honda NSX-GT cars (No. 1 and No. 17) will be looking for a come-from-behind win in tomorrow’s race. The fastest among the LEXUS LC500 teams was the No. 37 KeePer TOM’S LC500 (Ryo Hirakawa/ Nick Cassidy) in 7th position.
