Van Gisbergen in Blancpain Series win at Nurburgring

V8 Supercar driver Shane van Gisbergen, along with Kevin Estre and Rob Bell have won the Blancpain Endurance Series finale at the Nurburgring for Von Ryan Racing. Pit strategy was the key to their win, after starting 24th, as Estre assumed the lead of the race in the final hour when the leading cars were forced to pit under a safety car and cruised home to secure a second win of the season.

After what was arguably the most exciting race of the season Katsumasa Chiyo, Wolfgang Reip and Alex Buncombe took the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series drivers title. The trio of the #23 Nissan GT Academy Team RJN GT-R crossed the finish line of the season finale at the Nürburgring in third, which gave them a three-point lead in the final standings of the season.
