It was a first up win for the Trass Family Motorsport pairing of Sam Fillmore and Danny Stutterd (Ferrari GT3) at the final three-hour round of the Mahindra North Island Endurance Series at Manfeild Park, Feilding over the weekend. Second home was the SuperTourer of Simon Evans/Gene Rollinson with the International Motorsport Audi R8 of Jonny Reid and Neil Foster third.
The win for Fillmore/Stutterd and third for Reid/Foster has meant a tie for the 2016 title, both teams finishing on equal points after competing over three rounds in the series.
A late pitstop for the Tulloch Motorsport SaReNi Camaro of John McIntyre and Simon Gilbertson saw them finish fifth for the round, dropping them out of title contention.
The One Hour title fight saw a win for Nick Chester in an ex V8 Supercar Holden Commodore with Matt Whittaker (Porsche GT3) second. This was enough for Whittaker to take the title having won the two opening rounds at Taupo and Hampton Downs.
