The Prema team enjoyed a positive weekend at Oschersleben in the opening round of the ADAC Formel 4 Championship, securing a win, a third place and cruising to the lead in both the driver and the team standings. The German F4 series featured a brilliant performance by Estonian Jüri Vips. In race 1, starting from the third place, he quickly moved up to P2 and then made a late move for the lead to cross the line ahead of the pack. He then proceeded to take a podium finish in the second race and stayed in the top-5 for race 3 despite starting from the tenth position.
Juan Manuel Correa showcased great determination despite a troubled qualifying. In the end, The American capped a positive weekend with two fifth and one fourth place finishes. Marcus Armstrong also secured valuable points despite facing qualifying woes. After finishing ninth in race 1, he posted a sixth place in race 2. Starting from the front row on the grid in the final heat, he was forced to retire at the very start.
“Ultimately it’s not the results we wanted,” commented Armstrong. “After we didn’t get qualifying right it made the weekend difficult. It’s a shame about race 3 win but it didn’t work out. I’m lucky we have back to back race weekends so I can get back to work.”
