The Prema team brought home more positive results at Nürburgring in the fifth round of the German ADAC Formula 4 Championship. The Italian squad won race 3 with Ferrari Driver Academy youngster Marcus Armstrong, while Jüri Vips was able to extend his lead in the driver championship. After a tough qualifying session, the New Zealander maximized his chances with two points finishes before cruising from pole to win in the final heat of the weekend with a sensational pace.
“It hasn’t been a perfect weekend,” commented Armstrong. “We showed good pace in free practice, however in qualifying I had an issue with one of the front tyres on my second stint which made a big impact on my weekend.
“We took points in the first two races and managed to win race 3. To win the last race before the summer break is great & was also crucial in the championship fight. We now sit second in the points, with only a few points separate from us from the lead. I look forward to the next round.”
On the other hand, his Estonian team-mate took three top-5 finishes including a third place in race 2. Thanks to his great consistency over the weekend, he now leads Armstrong by 11.5 points.
Enzo Fittipaldi delivered an impressive performance too. At his first run in the ADAC series, the FDA-supported Brazilian posted a spectacular podium finish in race 3 and also ended up in the top-10 two more times. Last but not least, Juan Manuel Correa secured points too in race 3 with a seventh place. As the series now heads into the summer break, Prema is comfortably leading the team championship and is now looking forward to the next round scheduled for mid-September at Sachsenring.
