The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) plays host to the 19th round of the 2025 Formula One Championship in Austin, Texas. The US Grand Prix is the second of three rounds to be held in the USA and Liam Lawson’s Visa Cash App Racing Bulls team is up for the challenge.
The challenge for the team is to maintain their sixth place in the Constructor’s Championship, 30-points behind fifth placed Williams. Scoring no points in at the Singapore Grand Prix two weeks ago meant that seventh place Aston Martin Racing closed the gap from ten to four.
“I’m pumped for Austin as it marks a year since I started in F1,” commented Lawson. “It feels very exciting to get back to a track I enjoy, the atmosphere here is amazing. COTA is a high grip track which is well suited to F1 cars. It’s built on a unique landscape, so the surface changes every year and will make it a super interesting race.“
“The track is a great favourite with the drivers, having been designed to take in many of the notable features from some of the classic F1 circuits,” said Tim Goss, Chief Technical Office. “With some fast flowing corners, tight hairpins, and a sequence reminiscent of a stadium section, it has everything.
“On top of this, there is a steep rise of 40m into turn 1 with a wide entry that has become an overtaking favourite to add to the overtaking possibilities at the end of the back straight.
“The VCARB 02 has proven to work well across a range of circuit types, and we take that knowledge and confidence in our abilities, which should mean that if we get it right on the day we can deliver a strong points finish. It is a Sprint weekend, so we have two opportunities. We will come prepared and will aim to hit FP1 in good shape and push on from there.”
The team have revealed a striking pearlescent black and amber tortoise pattern livery for the United States Grand Prix in Austin this weekend. Introduced alongside multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and producer Shaboozey, the special livery reflects VCARB’s continued ambition to bridge the worlds of motorsport, music, and American culture in one bold statement.
