Young 20-year-old Charles Leclerc has shown he is bit of a revelation in his debut F1 season, driving for Alfa Romeo-Sauber. So much so, that he will now partner Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel in 2019.
Have a look at the Youtube clip below of his stunning performance last season at the Formula 2 Sprint race at Bahrain (Click on ‘Watch on Youtube’).
Here he starts from sixth on the grid and moves up into the lead. Then goes to ‘Plan B’, pits for tyres and drops to 14th then starts making his way through the field!
It’s a performance that says he is a champion in waiting. Some say that Charles Leclerc as a genuine superstar.
So what is his history?
– 2017 Formula 2 champion
– 2016 GP3 Series champion
– 2015 second in the Macau F3 Grand Prix
– 2015 FIA F3 European Championship – 4th
– 2014 Formula Renault 2.0 Alps – 2nd
Next year should be a cracker although I’m not sure that Vettel is looking forward to it.
