Three Grand Prix on consecutive weekends is a Formula One fan’s dream. We get to sit back, watch, analyse, discuss, critique and admire while Liam Lawson will be in the arena of action, the thick of the battle doing the hard yards as will each of the twenty drivers and ten teams, all vying for some sort of success.

First to the iconic Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola) in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy for the Emilla Romagna Grand Prix. Then to the Monaco Grand Prix and its traditional clash with the Indianapolis 500 weekend in American and finally the Spanish Grand Prix, usually the first European event of the season.

Italy and Imola is considered a home race for the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls team with its factory literally just down the road in Faenza. A good advantage to have when facing a close mid-pack battle.

Both Racing Bull will introduce its first major upgrade for the 2025 season with a new floor and body work potentially giving them an advantage in terms of aerodynamics.

Lawson appears pretty relaxed heading into an important race for the season.

“It’s a very cool feeling to be part of one of the team’s home races this weekend,” he commented. “Imola is iconic, with a lot of history, so it’s exciting to be racing here in Formula One for the first time.

“Imola is a track which is super-fast, requiring very high commitment. We’ve got a big three weeks coming up with the start of the triple header so we’ll be doing everything we can for a good result.”

Considered a driver’s favourite, Imola is also a relatively narrow track by modern standards which incorporates a mix of low and high-speed corners with changes in elevation.

The Emilla Romagna Grand Prix is timed to go at 1:00am NZ time Monday morning 19 May 2025.
