Callum Hedge has confirmed his intention to compete in the 2020 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge in Australia.
“The car that I raced at the start of this year in the South Island Porsche Series at Highlands and Teretonga has now been sent to Melbourne and arrived on Sunday morning into Melbourne. Hopefully it clears customs in time to be ready for a test day at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 18th of March. If we do not make the test day my first time in the car in Australia will be at the first round of the championship at Sydney on the 27th to the 29th of March.”
The car is due to be picked up by the team at Sonic Motor Racing Services, the team that Callum has an association with from running with them in the Australian Formula Ford Championship last year.
Sonic are well known within the Porsche Series in Australia and have great knowledge of the series and a relationship with Callum from last season.
The first task for the team is to check the car over and bring it up to the race specs required for the Porsche Sprint Challenge.
Hedge will compete the full season with Sonic continuing the growth in his racing career as this young Auckland continues to impress each time he steps behind the wheel of any vehicle.
