After qualifying 11th, Kiwi driver Liam Lawson has finished 13th in the first of two DTM Series races at the Nürburgring. The result, outside of a points position, sees him slip from second to third overall, four-points behind Maximillian Gotz and 49 behind leader Kelvin van der Linde.

Having started from pole position, Kelvin van der Linde claimed his third win of the season in an impressive manner with the ABT Sportsline Audi and extended his lead in the drivers’ standings. As the best-placed guest driver, Luca Stolz (GER) with the Mercedes-AMG of the Toksport WRT team secured second place on the podium, ahead of Swiss Philip Ellis with the WINWARD Mercedes-AMG.

Drivers will compete in the second race of the weekend at 11:30pm NZ time this evening. Free live coverage is on YouTube.
