Liam Lawson and Kelvin van der Linde are tied in the lead (188-points) of the DTM Series drivers’ standings after the latest race at Hockenheim.
With his fourth win of the season, van der Linde has made up a 15-point deficit against Lawson who finished fourth. In the 13th of this season’s 16 races at Hockenheim, the South African drove the Audi of the Kempten-based ABT Sportsline team from pole position to a commanding win.
Behind Kelvin van der Linde, Alex Albon (THA) finished second with the AlphaTauri Ferrari. His teammate Lawson lost third place to van der Linde’s teammate Mike Rockenfeller on the final lap.
Behind Lawson in fourth, Götz with the HRT Mercedes-AMG scored ten points for the championship for finishing fifth. Two-time DTM champion Marco Wittmann, meanwhile, had bad luck. On the opening lap, Wittmann, who was second in the standings going into the race, became involved in a collision and was forced to retire later on.
Second place overall sees Marco Wittmann and Maximilian Götz also are tied on points at 165 each.
The 14th race of the season gets underway on Sunday at 1.30pm (live on SAT.1 from 1pm).
