In Japan last weekend Nick Cassidy increased his lead in the Super Formula single seater series with one round left in the season. He also leads the Autobacs Super GT Series and looks to to increase this with just three races left on the 2018 calendar.
Heading to Sportsland SUGO in Japan, Cassidy and co-driver Ryo Hirakwa (No.1 KeePer TOM’S LC500) will be hindered with extra ballast for the round, part of the handicap system the series incorporates for more even competition.
The SUGO GT 300km race is over 61 laps and is expected to be demanding on both tyres and brakes.
At the last round the pairing finished second in the Fuji 500, the longest race of the season. It was their third podium of the season giving them a seven-point lead over the round winners, the No. 36 au TOM’S LC500 of Kazuki Nakajima/Yuhi Sekiguchi.
