Nick Cassidy will return to the DTM Series at the legendary Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari at Imola, Italy this weekend.  Fired up for the weekend ahead, the AlphaTauri AF Corse driver will be aiming to move up from a current 17th overall in the DTM standings.

“I’m really looking forward to Imola, my second weekend in DTM this season,” commented Cassidy.  “I think the Lausitzring was positive, but frustrating, so we look to score some more points.

The Kiwi driver delivered strong pace to earn a top 10 finish and 2-points in his season debut at the Lausitzring before being forced to retire due to tyre trouble in the weekend’s second race.

“We’re confident in our speed, and once again it will be a weekend of aiming to put everything together. If we can do that, I’m sure we will be quite strong – we’re fully focused, fully prepared and looking forward to the challenge.”

Cassidy will be driving the #37 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 and is especially keen to make the most of his opportunity at Imola as he will subsequently miss DTM Round 4 due to a calendar clash with Formula E, where he drives for Envision Racing.

This DTM round will see a record number of 30 cars for its debut at the iconic circuit.  Each of the DTM season’s eight rounds features two sprint races of 55 minutes plus one lap. The grid starts at Imola at 1:30pm local time (11:50pm NZ time) on Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19, 2022.
