Podium for Cassidy at Fuji in Super GT

A third place podium finish for #37 KeePer TOM’S LC500 of Nick Cassidy and Ryo Hirakawa at the latest round of the 2017 Autobacs Super GT Series has seen the team stay at the top of the points leader-board. Victory at the Fuji Speedway went to fellow Lexus team-mate and fastest qualifying in the GT500 class, #38 ZENT CERUMO LC500 driven by Yuji Tachikawa and Hiroaki Ishiura.

In the GT300 class, the winner was the No. 51 JMS P.MU LMcorsa RC F GT3 driven by Yuichi Nakayama and Sho Tsuboi. Fellow Kiwi driver Jono Lester and co-driver Kyosuke Mineo in the #9 Gulf NAC Porsche 911 suffered tyre issues and finished in tenth.

The 500km race took place in fine weather as part of Japan’s Golden Week holidays with a large crowd of 58,000 spectators. The series moves to the Autopolis for the third round 21 May.
