KeePer TOM’S Racing pairing of Nick Cassidy and Ryo Hirakawa have finished second at the latest Super GT Series round at Chang International Circuit in Thailand. First across the line was the #6 WAKO’S 4CR LC500 LEXUS LC500 of Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita who won from pole position.
“That was a fun race,” commented Cassidy. “We passed five cars and had a good crack at the win. Ultimately just short but no regrets.”
The round soon was dominated by LEXUS LC500 machines. Starting from fifth, Cassidy began to close in quickly on the leading #6 Lexus. Time and again Cassidy tried to pass Yamashita, but each time he was fought off, and eventually it was Yamashita that ran on to take the checkered flag first and win the race.
Oshima and Yamashita continue to lead the championship on 35points with Cassidy and Hirakawa just one point behind on 34.
The next round takes place at Fuji 3-4 August 2019.
