Team NZ ready to kick off ‘Sprint Cup’ title defence

Team NZ Motorsport kicks off its Asian Le Mans Series Sprint Cup title defence this weekend at Sepang International Circuit. Graeme Dowsett and John Curran will drive the #77 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup in the two 1-hour duration races.

Last year they claimed the GT Cup title in the inaugural Asian Le Mans Series Sprint Cup after winning five of the six races, all of that were held at Sepang.

“Team NZ is really looking forward to the start of the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup,” commented Dowsett. “We have some good personal and team goals for the balance of the year, and hope to continue from where we left off.”

Race 1 starts on Saturday (6 May) at 1420 and Race 2 on Sunday (7 May) at 1355. Before that though on Friday (5 May) there are two official practice sessions of 45 minutes each, starting at 0945 and 1445 respectively, followed by qualifying on Saturday morning at 0900-0915.
