Team Porsche New Zealand (TPNZ) has announced a driver change to their 2023 lineup. Ryan Wood, who was previously confirmed as the Porsche Carrera Cup driver, will now be moving to Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) to compete in the 2023 Super2 season. TPNZ will announce its new driver line-up for 2023 in due course.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to be selected to compete for Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) in Super2 for the 2023 season,” commented Wood. “I have had the pleasure of working with Team Porsche New Zealand in the Porsche Sprint Challenge for 2022 and with the help of Earl Bamber Motorsport, my season was extremely successful.
“Although I am unable to compete with TPNZ again next year, I am appreciative of Porsche New Zealand and Earl Bamber Motorsport for helping me get to where I am today and giving me the skills and experience to take my career to the next level.”
Wood, who competed for TPNZ in the 2022 Porsche Sprint Challenge, concluded his debut Australian season in second place. In his final round at Philip Island, he claimed his sixth pole from six rounds and the Round Victory for the weekend. Wood’s performance didn’t go unnoticed as he was offered the opportunity to advance his motorsport career in Super2 with WAU.
