Top-ten finish for Cassidy in DTM at the Lausitzring

Sheldon van der Linde has won the DTM race at DEKRA Lausitzring Turn 1 powered by Autohero. For the South African, racing for the Schubert Motorsport team, it was his second victory in DTM and the first for the new BMW M4.

Having qualified 12th, Kiwi Nick Cassidy (#37 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020) driving for Red Bull AlphaTauri AF Corse, came home ninth with team mate Felipe Fraga retiring out of the race.

Luca Stolz (GER) came second with the HRT Mercedes-AMG from Lucas Auer (AUT) with the WINWARD Mercedes-AMG and Indian Arjun Maini with the second HRT Mercedes-AMG. Maro Engel (GER, GruppeM Mercedes-AMG) finished fifth.

Austrian Lucas Auer, who earlier claimed pole position, moves up into the lead in the drivers’ standings with 44-points, one ahead of Mirko Bortolotti (ITA/GRT Lamborghini). Drivers will have qualifying and Race 2 on Sunday.
