Van der Drift and Sceats head to Monza for Lamborghini Super Trofeo finals

Italy’s famous Monza Circuit is the venue for what promises to be an epic showdown to decide the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia PRO title. Dubbed the ‘Temple of Speed’, the storied race track will host the sixth and final double-header of the season from October 21-23, as two teams and four drivers go head-to-head to decide who will lift the coveted PRO crown.

Leading the points heading into round six, which precedes the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals where the Asia, Europe and North America series come together for a blockbuster weekend, is Batmobile Racing’s William Tregurtha. Having burst onto the Asian motorsport scene following a late call-up for round one in April, the 26-year-old Briton has only been absent from the PRO podium once since his arrival.

Joining the squad from round two onwards, rapid Monegasque Jonathan Cecotto, 27, and Tregurtha went on to take the next five consecutive PRO victories together. However, having been absent from the season-opener, Cecotto currently sits third on the PRO leaderboard heading to Monza, 27 points shy of his team mate.

Gustaw Wisniewski of Poland and Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) team mate Liam Sceats of New Zealand

Splitting the dominant duo, and determined to snatch the title, are two threatening young pretenders in the form of Lamborghini Super Trofeo junior drivers Liam Sceats of New Zealand and Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) team mate Gustaw Wisniewski of Poland. Sceats, 21, and Wisniewski, still only 19 years-of-age, have kept their Batmobile Racing PRO rivals well within striking distance all season, narrowing the points delta to Tregurtha to just six with an emphatic third PRO victory of the season in Shanghai in September.

That win prevented the Briton from building an unassailable lead, and sets the scene for a nail-biting final encounter in Monza.

“I’ve never raced at Monza before, but I’ve done tens of hours on the simulator at home preparing for it,” commented Sceats. “Gustaw has raced here before, which is a positive.

“VSR has a strong history at Monza, so I have full belief in the team and engineers to give us a fast car. From there, it’s up to me to execute in one of the most competitive fields of the year.”

Former PRO champion Chris van der Drift and PRO-AM teammate Todd Kingsford

VSR’s all-conquering PRO-AM line-up of Todd Kingsford and former PRO champion Chris van der Drift have already locked in the 2026 title with a perfect score of ten wins from ten races.

Following testing, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia season finale begins in earnest with free practice on Wednesday, October 21. Qualifying follows on Thursday morning, with the penultimate race of the season starting at 13:25. The final 50-minute race of 2026 roars to life at 15:30 on Friday (all times UTC+2).
