WSR to defend BTCC titles with Jake Hill and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport in 2025

Reigning British Touring Car Champion Jake Hill will defend his title with WSR and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport in 2025.

The 30-year-old from Kent prevailed in a dramatic season finale at Brands Hatch last month aboard his WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport after a year that included eight victories, 16 podium finishes and points finishes in 28 of the 30 races.

Jake, who will carry the prestigious ‘Number 1’ on his BMW, will do so with a car that will be powered by 100 per cent sustainable fuel following a rule change announced in the past week by series organisers TOCA.

“We are very pleased to have extended our agreement with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and to have Jake back in one of our BMWs in 2025 to defend the title, ” commented Dick Bennetts, Team Principal. “He raised his level this year and dealt with late-season pressure extremely well to not only take the Drivers’ title, but to help BMW win the Manufacturers’ crown too.

“Naturally our aim is to win again in 2025 and having these important building blocks in place so early in the winter is a huge help so we must thank Mark, Alex and the team at MB Motorsport for their ongoing commitment to this programme.”

It will be the fourth season in a row that the 20-time BTCC race winner will have spent with the Sunbury-on-Thames based team, WSR.

He joined in 2022, put his BMW on pole position at the first attempt at Donington Park and has since taken 17 of his career victories and 41 podium finishes with the organisation.

Jake’s on-track achievements this year alongside fellow WSR drivers Colin Turkington and Adam Morgan were crucial in BMW winning a record-breaking 10th BTCC Manufacturers’ crown and WSR increasing their title count to 18.

The 2025 BTCC season gets underway at Donington Park on April 26-27.
