Both the North and South Island Endurance Racing Drivers Clubs (NIERDC & SIERDC) have confirmed a number of significant changes for the 2025season for both their own series and the New Zealand Endurance Championship.
GT3 Class: A Level Playing Field
New to this class are performance restrictions (BoP) which will be introduced in the GT3 class using weight, air intake, and boost adjustments. The goal will be to tighten the competition in Class 1 (GT3) and create more exciting battles on track.
Three-Hour Race: More Flexibility for Pro-Am Lineups
The maximum drive time for Elite (Pro) drivers in Classes 2-5, when paired with an Amateur, will be increased to a total of 9- minutes, 25 minutes longer than before. This change should give teams more options for race strategy and a better a opportunity for class wins.
NZ Endurance Championship Qualification
To be eligible for the overall NZ Endurance Championship title, teams will need to compete in at least one round in both the North and South Islands. This ensures the championship represents the best endurance racers across the country.
