It’s the second round of the Golden Homes North Island Endurance Series this weekend at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park, which will feature both One, Two and Three-Hour races.

Numbers are up for the Two-Hour category with double the competitors after a successful first round earlier in May at Pukekohe Raceway.  Winners of the first round, Shane Parsons and Lindsay Lyons (Honda CRX) will have their hands full with 22-cars expected on the grid.

The One-Hour field is potentially one of the most competitive with 25 cars expected to compete this weekend.  While the first round was won by Glenn Smith/John DeVeth (McLaren 650S GT3), they will be expecting some tough opposition from John Midgely (Ford Falcon SuperTourer) who finished second at Pukekohe and Anthony Leighs (Audi R8 GT3) who finished third.

Added to this will be the ex-Simon Evans Holden V8 SuperTourer in the hands of Brady Wild, who has drafted Evans in as co-driver, and the Holden SuperTourer of Tim Edgell.

Thirteen cars will compete in the Three-Hour race with the appearance of the stunning Renault RS01 in the hands of Greg Murphy and Shane Helms.  The father and son pairing of Geoff and Martin Short (Audi R8 GT3) as well as the Audi R8 GT3 of Neil Foster/Jonny Reid will add to the mix but favourites would have to be Round 1 winners Alex Riberas/Darryn Kelly (Aston Martin GT3).

The Two-Hour race gets underway at 9am with the One-Hour starting at 11:30am and the Three-Hour at 1:30pm on Saturday.
