The third round of the very popular Mainland Rally Series has been moved to the 24/25 October 2020. The Canterbury Rally was to have taken place 31 May but due to the global pandemic COVID-19, the organisers, Autosport Car Club have elected to move the date to Labour weekend.

The Mainland Rally Series comprises six events. The Westland Rally took place earlier in March with Christchurch’s Josh Marston winning the opening event. Rally Otago was to host the the second round (Saturday only) but along with the Canterbury Rally, it has been postponed but with no alternative date. The fourth round is the Rally South Canterbury (20 June) followed by the Catlin’s Rally (8 August) and Rally Hanmer (26 September).
