Are drivers flocking to F3 in Asia?

An announcement overnight that there are 23-entries for the winter F3 Asian Championship that gets underway in early February in the UAE. While all drivers are yet to be announced, it will be of interest to see which internationals will turn up on the grid for the five round series taking place at either the Dubai Autodrome or the Yas Marina Circuit.

Back here in NZ, we will not see any international drivers on the grid for the 2021 Castrol Toyota Racing Series due to no places being available in the managed isolation facilities within the narrow time window for internationals to complete their two-week isolation period upon entry into the country.

Drivers and teams heading to the F3 Asian Championship arriving from specified countries have been advised to enter Dubai 10 days prior the second round at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit on February 5-6, in order to comply with the city’s entry requirements.

The fourth season of the series will get underway on January 29 at the Dubai Autodrome after organizers tweaked the provisional calendar in light of prevailing entry requirements for the UAE.

The championship returns to Dubai for Rounds 3 and 4, before the season finale at Yas Marina on February 19-20. The revised provisional calendar is subject to approval by the FIA.

Driver announcements will follow shortly.
