Armstrong looking for results at Vallelunga

The Vallelunga circuit is set for the third round of the 2017 Italian Formula 4 Championship and lining-up with the Prema Team pairing of Marcus Armstrong and Enzo Fittipaldi. Armstrong currently lies fourth in the Italian Championship.

A fortnight ago, Armstrong had a turnaround in fortune competing in the ADAC Formula 4 Championships in Germany. In his first race outing on the Red Bull Ring at Austria’s Spielberg, the Kiwi teenager dominated qualifying at round three of the series and capped that with a race win and two third placings. He currently sits third on the German F4 points table with four more rounds left in the season.

Both Armstrong and Fittipaldi will hold the Ferrari Driver Academy banner and have prepared well for the round on the technical Roman circuit. The 16-year-old New Zealander has scored three podium finishes in the opening couple of rounds and is now ready to go for the most important trophy, while his 15-year-old Brazilian team-mate impressed so far in his rookie year and is determined to continue a really positive path.

“We line-up at Vallelunga confident in our drivers and team,” commented Grazia Troncon – Team Manager. “In the previous races we saw that we can compete at the highest levels, and with a little more luck that we haven’t had so far I’m sure that we will be able to become a threat for wins very soon.

“Marcus is looking increasingly competitive while Enzo has been impressive so far in his rookie season. We really look forward to Vallelunga.”

Drivers face two qualifying seasons on Saturday morning and the first race in the afternoon and two races on Sunday.

The sixteen-year-old Armstrong is currently based in Italy with the Ferrari Driver Academy and is competing in both the Italian and German F4 Championships with the Prema Powerteam.
