It seems ironic. The Australian Formula 4 Championships get dropped from lack of entrants (see Formula 4: Wrong Formula, Wrong time) while on the global stage an Australian driver, Joshua Car, wins the US F4 Championship with one round remaining.
What’s more is that Car is driving for a New Zealand team in the US, Crosslink-Kiwi Motorsport.
It’s his second season with the team competing in the USF4 Champs. In 2018 he finished fourth overall with two wins and two other podiums. This season (with two races remaining) he has finished on the podium in 14/15 races, including six race wins.

Car has a top karting C.V. having won the 2017 Las Vegas X30 SuperKarts, the USA Super National karting championship and the Australian X30 Senior Kart championship.
This season the USF4 field is competing for the championship scholarship valued at $230,000 to move into the next rung in the SCCA Pro Racing open-wheel ladder, the F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda.
The scholarship package includes, a one year chassis lease from Ligier Automotive North America, a one year engine lease from Honda Performance Development, $25,000 from Redline Synthetic Oil, two free sets of tires per race weekend including two sets of tires for official practices from Hankook Tire, paid entries and a marketing package from SCCA Pro Racing, a branded race suit kit from Sabelt America and a custom championship watch from BRM Chronographes.
Well done Joshua Car.
