Cassidy finishes runner-up in Super Formula

Finishing second in the final Super Formula round at Suzuka in Japan was not quite enough for Nick Cassidy to win the overall 2018 title which went to Naoki Yamamoto. The Team Mugen driver converted his pole position into the race win with Cassidy second finishing ahead of Hiroaki Ishiura.

“I’m gutted,” said Cassidy. “Second in today’s race and missed the SUPER FORMULA Championship by 1 point!

“Proud of my efforts, went down swinging that’s for sure. Everyone’s support this year has been amazing and hasn’t gone unnoticed!”

In finishing second Cassidy’s team secured the team’s championship title for the first time.

Cassidy now focuses on the final round of the Super GT Series at Motegi 10-11 November.
