Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport sweeps all FR Americas Podium at Mid-Ohio

It was a dominant weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport FR Americas Powered by Honda outfit. With five drivers in the field, the Texas program earned three victories, three second-place results, three third-place finishes, and a total of nine podium results.

In a traditional three-day race weekend that was interrupted on occasion by rain, it was a performance-filled event for the multi-time championship-winning team.

With qualifying canceled due to a rain-soaked and flooding race course, grid positions for race one were determined by current point standings. With Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport drivers at the top of the championship standings, Callum Hedge would be awarded the pole position, and to his outside was teammate Ryan Shehan. Just behind them, Cooper Becklin slotted into P3 on the grid as team drivers occupied the front three positions. Behind the lead trio would be Manuel Roza and new team driver Max Hewitt as they looked to move forward once the race action began.

With the sun shining for the start of the first FR Americas race of the weekend, it was all Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport as not only did they sweep the podium, but they also swept the top four spots on track. Hedge rocketed away from his pole position starting spot to add another win to his results sheet while Ryan Shehan was the best of the rest in second to keep the pressure on for the championship. Cooper Becklin finished third as the top three starters finished in the exact same positions after 25 laps of racing. Manuel Roza had his best career FR Americas result driving to a P4 result while Max Hewitt, in his series and team debut, was classified in ninth.

#17 Callum Hedge

It was another 1 – 2 – 3 finish on Sunday morning during the second FR Americas race of the weekend as Callum Hedge continued his winning ways, and stretched his championship point lead. Ryan Shehan added his eighth podium result in as many races to cross the line second to be the most consistent driver in the series while Cooper Becklin added his second third-place result in as many days. Manuel Roza continued his best FR Americas weekend of the season crossing the line in sixth as Max Hewitt finished in the top-ten in P9.

Callum Hedge picked up his third race win on the weekend as Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport picked up their third 1 – 2 – 3 finish on the weekend. Claiming three wins, three pole positions, and nine podium results, it was another career weekend for the Crosslink Kiwi FR Americas program. With Hedge taking another win and more valuable championship points, Shehan picked up his third second-place finish over the course of the weekend with Becklin crossing the line third, less than two seconds behind Hedge the winner. Manuel Roza put another team driver inside the top-five with an additional P4 result while Max Hewitt ended his day early in ninth.

“We sit first, second, and third in the drivers’ championship and lead the team championship as well,” explained Teena Larsen. “We are just now halfway through the season, but we need to keep our foot down and continue our winning ways.”

Next up for Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport will be a trip to the New Jersey Motorsports Park over the July 28-30 weekend.
