Dixon receives knighthood, Quinn a CNZM in New Year Honours list

Scott Dixon has been named in the 2026 New Year Honours list, among three new dames and four new knights. He will receive a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (KNZM).

Also receiving a New Year 2026 honour is motorsport personality Tony Quinn who gains a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for services to motorsport and the funding of community projects in Cromwell.

Sir Scott Dixon won the NZ Formula Vee (1993/94) and Formula Ford (1996/87) Championships before heading to Australia and wining the Australian Drivers’ Championship (1998). Heading to the USA he won the 2000 Indy Lights title and has gone on to win the IndyCar series six times (2003, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020) as well as the Indianapolis 500 (2008).
