It was a weekend of recovery drives for Kiwi Louis Sharp at the latest round of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship held at the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.
A difficult qualifying session saw him start Saturday’s Sprint Race from P20 and finishing 15th. On Sunday he started again from P20 in the main Feature Race and this time finished in 13th.
“It was another good recovery drive today (Sunday) and nice to show some strong pace coming through the pack again,” commented Sharp. “A similar story to yesterday in that it’s quite difficult to overtake in the DRS train but it’s good to confirm that our race pace is really strong.”

Sharp has two championship points and sits 21st on the points table heading to the Silverstone Circuit in the UK this weekend (3-5 July 2026).
“Looking forward to Silverstone next week. Qualifying is going to be super important and we need to maximise that, but it’s nice to know the race pace is there, we just need to nail quali. Good moves today and some strong speed shown.”
