Having crashed out of the Canadian F1 Grand Prix and endured two weeks of rumours concerning his position at Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 Team, Brendon Hartley has been assured by Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko that his seat is safe for now.

Speaking about Hartley’s opening lap crash with Williams F1 driver Lance Stroll, autosport.com have reported Marko saying:

“It was, I would say, a racing accident, and has nothing to do about his future. He will be in the car.”

The website went on to report Marko saying “All the people who say they want to race for Toro Rosso, or they want to put an offer that we didn’t know about” as “unbelievable stories going around”.

This confirms what Hartley stated before the Canadian Grand Prix, “I know what my contract says, I’m very confident in the work I’ve been doing for Toro Rosso behind the scenes to develop the car.”

Next up is the French F1 Grand Prix 24 June at the Circuit Paul Ricard.
