Matthew McCutcheon made a clean sweep of races at the final round of the Giltrap Group North Island Formula Ford Series on Saturday at Hampton Downs.
In yet another dominant round, McCutcheon also won the Stephen Gillard and Class 2 trophies. While McCutcheon stayed out in front, the battle for second went on over the day between Liam Sceats, Kyan Davie and Bree Morris.
Morris would end up second, Davie third and Sceats fourth in both the first two races, with extremely close racing between the trio.
Race 3 would, unfortunately, end early for all three, young Liam Sceats got beached in the Gravel trap at turn 4, while Davie and Morris had an unfortunate incident at turn 1, halting the race on its last lap with a red flag.
Kyan Davie finished the series in second place, with his steady improvements earning him the Class 1 title.
Bree Morris would round out an impressive final few rounds to complete a rookie top 3 in the overall standings.
Liam Sceats and Flynn Mullany completed the top 5 for the season.
The Giltrap Group NIFF Series will return for the 2021/22 season, building on its successes from this season to continue to provide a series for all ages to enjoy Formula Ford and to continue Formula Ford’s history of developing young talent.
