McElrea disappointed with 11th in IndyPro 2000 race

It’s been a disappointing weekend for Kiwi Hunter McElrea after finishing 11th in the Indy Pro 2000 Oval Challenge of St. Louis Presented by Cooper Tires. 20-year-old Italian-Canadian Devlin DeFrancesco dominated the race at the World Wide Technology Raceway (St Louis) to take his first win in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and extend his points lead. McElrea has dropped down the overall points table to seventh,

“There’s not much else to say, other than you win and lose as a team,” said McElrea after the race. “For whatever reason, we just struggled to find a balance all weekend.

“I am proud of myself knowing I got the absolute maximum out of the car today, and really have to thank my guys Pabst Racing for working very hard trying sort out the issues. Eleventh is the most that could be achieved today.
Already thinking about next weekend.”

Next the Indy Pro 2000 Series returns to the road course competition with a triple-header event at the Indianapolis Grand Prix circuit on September 3-4.
