Podium for Cassidy in Super Formula race

Kiwi driver Nick Cassidy has scored his first podium finishing third in the second round of the Super Formula Series at the Okayama International Circuit in Japan.

In only his second race of the category, Cassidy set the third fastest time in qualifying behind Yuhi Sekiguchi (pole position) who finished second, and Andre Lotterer who went on to win the 30 lap sprint race.

”I’m super happy to convert my maiden podium in Super Formula today,” commented Cassidy. “Thank you to Kondo Racing, Toyota and TRD for their support.”

Race 2 – Cassidy finishes 11th

In the second and feature race of the round, Cassidy finished 11th with the win going to Yuhi Sekicughi. Cassidy started a disappointing 17th after a spin in qualifying, but was able to make his way through the field to salvage an 11th place.
