Pole for Armstrong at Monza

Marcus Armstrong (Prema Power Team) will start from pole position in Races 1 at the Monza circuit, for the final round of the 2017 Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth.

In the first session, the championship leader Armstrong set a very quick time of 1:53.741, well clear of the second quickest driver, the Italian Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech), 1:54:072 – by 0.331 of second.

Third was the Dutch driver Job Van Uitert, who indeed missed out on second position by just one-one thousandth of a second: 1:54:073. Van Uitert, remember, is fighting for the title.

Fourth was the Russian Artem Petrov (DR Formula) with 1:54.139, followed by the Venezuelan Sebastian Fernandez (Bhaitech) with 1:54:234.

In the second session of qualifying, Fernandez was third, followed by Van Uitert and the Indian Kush Maini (Jenzer Motorsport). Armstrong was forced to retire with a technical issue at the start of the session, and was the last of the runners in the second session.
