Sharp and Toyota FR graduates line up for FIA F3 test

Kiwi driver and 2024 GB3 Championship winner Louis Sharp will join a number of Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship graduates on the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship grid this season.

The category roars back in action over the next three days with a pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain, 19-21 February 2025. The all-new Formula 3 car will run for the first time ahead of the season-opening first round in Melbourne, Australia, in March.

Sharp is one of eighteen rookie drivers competing in the championship. He is joined by both the 2022 and 2023 Toyota FR Oceania Championship winners Charlie Wurz (Trident) and Roman Bilinski who will be one of Sharp’s teammates at Rodin Motorsport.

Also on the grid are 2023 New Zealand Grand Prix winner Laurens van Hoepen (ART Grand Prix) and Matias Zagazeta who finished fifth overall in the recently 2025 Toyota FR season.

The three-day test will see drivers out on track for a total of six hours each day at a familiar venue to the teams, helping them in their adaptation to the new F3 car. Eight sets of the Pirelli Hard tyres to each drivers for the duration of the test.
