Sharp moves up to fourth in ROKiT F4 British Championship

Louis Sharp has continued to collect points after the first two races at the Snetterton round of the ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA and now sits fourth overall on the points table.

“Race 1 went to plan using our used tyres and making up two spots to finish seventh, commented the Christchurch teenager. “It extends our points winning streak and moves us closer to fourth in the championship. So, all very positive despite challenging qualifying when we gambled with a tyre strategy which didn’t quite go to plan.”

Having qualified in ninth for the opening race,  Sharp started on the front row for the reverse grid second race of the three race weekend, finishing just off the podium.

“Finished fourth in Race 2,” said Sharp.  “I was leading into Turn 2 off the line but then was hit by another driver that dropped me to fifth.

“I fought back and made a pass into fourth and challenged hard for third. As a positive, that extends my points scoring run and I’m up to fourth in the championship. Now looking forward to tomorrow when we start from fifth.”

Ale Dunne won the opening race from Georgi Dimitrov and Oliver Gray.  Joseph Loake won the second reverse grid race from Ugo Ugochukwu and Daniel Guinchard.
