Rodin Motorsport’s Louis Sharp led the times in the final GB3 Championship test session of the day at Donington Park, but the British-born New Zealander wasn’t able to usurp Tymek Kucharczyk’s time from earlier in the day.
Championship leader Sharp’s best lap of 1m23.320s put him just over a tenth clear in the session ahead of Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Kucharczyk, with JHR’s championship contender John Bennett third, the trio covered by just over two tenths of a second.
The second JHR car of Patrick Heuzenroeder was fourth, 0.042s behind his teammate and just a thousandth of a second ahead of Rodin’s Freddie Slater, who is preparing for his series debut this weekend.
Arden’s fellow newcomer Max Taylor was inside the top-six yet again, and ahead of Gerrard Xie (Hitech), Seb Murray (Chris Dittmann Racing), McKenzy Cresswell (Elite) and Arthur Rogeon (Rodin), with the top-10 covered by four tenths of a second.
In all, the top-18 drivers in the session were split by less than a second, pointing towards an exciting qualifying session on Saturday morning.
Kucharczyk’s session one time was enough for him to top the day overall, with the top-eight all registering their best laps in cooler conditions this morning.
Bennett and Heuzenroeder were the only drivers in the top-10 to improve their times at the end of the day.
