Verschoor takes dual pole positions for Hampton Downs racing

Netherland’s Richard Verschoor has taken pole position for both races at the third round of the Toyota Motor Racing Series at Hampton Downs, north Waikato, during this morning’s qualifying.

Verschoor and Juan Manuel Correa from the USA tipped series leader Marcus Armstrong off pole position in the last 30 seconds of the first qualifying session for this afternoon’s 20 lap preliminary race.

Then in the second session, the 17 year old withstood the challenges of other drivers as he went three tenths of a second faster to break the one minute barrier, to hold off Armstrong and Russian Robert Shwartzman.
