Toyota Racing Series graduate Spike Kohlbecker won his second race of the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, on Sunday morning at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Austin Texas. Having qualified second, the US driver went on to finish second in the opening race before winning and then claiming third in the final outing of the round.
“After starting off pole, we were shuffled back to fourth early (in the race),” commented Kohlbecker. “We rallied back, picked up the lead and held through two safety cars to pick up the win.
“Having some of the #TeamSpike supporters trackside was a great confidence boost this weekend. Their support was key today. Thanks to the rest of our team for watching from home as we closed out our F4 season on a high note.”

The result sees Kohlbecker finish third overall for the season, 85-points behind winner Hunter Yeany (285-points) and Kiwi Motorsport team mate Jose Blanco (228-points) who finished second.
Kiwi Motorsport was able to claim the Team Championship for the 2020 season.
Kiwi driver Ronan Murphy’s best result for the COTA round was eighth in the final race after a 14th and 19th in the opening two. He finished 17th overall.
