The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship begins today at Sydney Motorsport Park with the opening event of the year, the Thrifty Sydney 500.
Supercars hit the track for the first time with the singular practice session of the event kicking off at 11:55am AEDT.
That will be followed by Boost Mobile Qualifying at 2:20pm and the opening race of the year at 7:50pm.
There’s plenty of attention heading into today’s season opener – with a new format which includes a Sprint Cup, Enduro Cup and the first ever Finals Series to determine the 2025 Supercars’ Champion.
Two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Chaz Mostert will make his 350th career race start this weekend, while another milestone will be reserved for James Courtney – who will move into 5th on the all-time Supercars Championship race start list.
Gates open at Sydney Motorsport Park at 11:00am local time on Friday ahead of the first practice session of the year, which begins at 11:55am AEDT.
Defending Supercars Champion Will Brown recorded the quickest lap time during Wednesday’s Test Day.
