Coulthard to stay?

Supercars.com are reporting that Fabian Coulthard is likely to stay at Shell V-Power Racing alongside Scott McLaughlin for the 2020 season.

They report that ‘Team Penske boss Tim Cindric has given the strongest hint yet that Shell V-Power Racing will enter 2020 with an unchanged driver line-up.’

“I think the guys we have are doing a good job and continue to push each other forward,” he told Supercars.com. “As far as when contracts end and all the rest of it, I don’t anticipate too much changing in the near future.”

Coulthard has made a significant improvement this season and is second in the overall points standings behind McLaughlin, trailing by 319 points.

This time last season after the Darwin Triple Crown weekend he languished in seventh spot, 546 points behind McLaughlin.

Meanwhile, Speedcafe.com are speculating (from the same conversation with Cindric) that McLaughlin may be on the move to the US to further his career.

All will be revealed, “Our goal was to be able to confirm by the end of the month; by the end of June,” said Cindric.
