They may have received a fine for breaching the podium regulations but the marketing returns have been tenfold. Here’s the latest from Shell V-Power Racing…..
Australian motorsport legend Dick Johnson and Supercars Champion Scott McLaughlin will make a $30,000 donation to children’s cancer charity Camp Quality in Brisbane today.
Johnson, McLaughlin and Team Principal Ryan Story will hand the cheque to Camp Quality CEO Kylea Tink at their Brisbane offices this morning.
The donation comes as a result of a fundraising campaign from the team, spearheaded by Story, where replicas of a ‘Ford News: Mustang Wins Title’ poster were sold online.
The poster was made famous by McLaughlin when he carried one onto the podium after his victory in Race 20 of the 2019 Supercars Championship at Queensland Raceway a fortnight ago.
The team received a $10,000 fine as a result, before going on to make a huge positive out of the situation.
