Feeney eyes Sprint Cup win, Finals berth as Supercars returns to Ipswich

Supercars championship leader Broc Feeney may already have one foot into the Supercars Finals, but plans to keep his right foot on the loud pedal chasing more victories as Supercars returns to Ipswich this weekend.

The 22-year-old Gold Coaster forecasts big crowds and big action as the Repco Supercars Championship holds its first race event at Queensland Raceway since 2019.

The Century Batteries Ipswich Super440 will host three Supercars races this weekend, concluding the Repco Sprint Cup segment of the 2025 championship.

The championship leader at the end of this weekend’s racing will earn the Sprint Cup and an automatic entry to the inaugural Supercars Finals, which kicks off on the Gold Coast in late October.

Feeney boasts a considerable 220-point lead over Triple Eight teammate Will Brown, and with a maximum of 315 points available is the heavy favourite to book his Finals ticket this weekend.

Feeney is also keen on the 25 bonus points awarded to the Sprint Cup winner, which could prove crucial once the Finals begin in October.

This weekend’s event also features the rare two-by-four concept with the Australian Superbikes championship also in action, the only time all year the two series will race on the same track on the same weekend.

On-track action at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super440 gets underway Friday, with three races across Saturday and Sunday.

Fans can get an early taste on the action on Thursday in Ipswich at SuperFest – a free-to-the-public fan event from 4:30 p.m. AEST.

The fan event includes a signing session from 5:00 p.m. where fans can meet all 26 entered Supercars drivers plus a majority of Superbike riders the night before racing begins.
