Supercars legend Greg Murphy will return to the Supercars Commentary team for this year’s Enduro events, the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Murphy was long a fixture of pit lane following his retirement from racing, which ended temporarily last year when he drove one final Great Race at Mount Panorama in the Boost Mobile wildcard alongside fellow kiwi Richie Stanaway.
The all-NZ pair finished in 11th place in Murphy’s first Bathurst in eight years, and Stanaway’s first in three.
The now 50-year-old said the 2022 Great Race will officially be his final race in Supercars.
Supercars Head of Broadcast David Tunnicliffe said Murphy will step into a familiar role for the Sandown and Bathurst events.
“Fans love Murph and we will have him back in the thick of the action in pit lane for this year’s endurance events,” Tunnicliffe said.
“He’s a great commentator and pit lane reporter and will be there to ensure fans know exactly what is going on in and outside team garage’s during two of the most important race weekends of the year.”
