Chaz Mostert has claimed his second win of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 weekend, outduelling Broc Feeney in a thrilling late-race restart to take out Race 29 and climb to second in the 2025 Supercars Championship standings.
“We were second on road, and we know how critical is to be on top of pit stops, give it your all, and it’s a team sport,” said Mostert. “This win’s the team, they were perfect in the pit stops, they held their nerve under pressure, and I wouldn’t be here without them. The team got me here today.”
Feeney, who led much of the race and showed dominant pace, finished second and retains the championship lead heading into the Sandown 500, ahead of Mostert and Bathurst 1000 winner Matt Payne who drops to third.

The race marked the first-ever Finals elimination in Supercars history, and it delivered high drama from start to finish. Anton De Pasquale, Brodie Kostecki, and Ryan Wood were eliminated from title contention after a combination of qualifying struggles and race incidents sealed their fate.
The 250km contest was shaped by strategic pit stops, late-race contact, and a dramatic Safety Car period triggered by De Pasquale’s collision with James Courtney. The incident earned De Pasquale a 15-second penalty, ending his hopes of progressing to the semi-finals.
Earlier, Macauley Jones failed to leave the grid for the formation lap, while Fullwood was penalised for contact with Will Davison that left the #17 Mustang buried in the tyre wall. Nick Percat’s race ended prematurely with a damper failure, and Richie Stanaway retired late after a bruising battle with Kostecki.
The final laps saw Mostert defend fiercely against Feeney, who launched multiple attacks at turn 4 and turn 12. Mostert held firm to secure back-to-back wins on the streets of Surfers Paradise, while André Heimgartner held off Matt Payne to claim third for Brad Jones Racing.
Heading into the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, all seven have their points reset to 4000.
Based on their finishing order after the Gold Coast round, they receive bonus points ranging from 150 for first down to 48 for seventh. That means Feeney, starts Sandown with 4150 points, and Thomas Randle will start the event with 4048.
Sandown features two races. Any driver who wins one of those races automatically qualifies for the next Finals round at Adelaide.
After both races, the three drivers with the lowest points totals are eliminated—unless one of them has won a race. In that case, the next lowest-ranked driver is knocked out instead. This leaves four drivers to fight for the title at the Adelaide 500.
The Penrite Oil Sandown 500 runs 14-16 November at Sandown Raceway in Melbourne.
