Chaz Mostert is back in business, dominating Saturday’s race at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 to win by a gargantuan 23 seconds.
With the win, Mostert, who entered this weekend as the eighth seed in the Supercars Finals, earns an automatic berth in the second round of the Finals at Sandown Raceway.
It is Mostert’s fifth win and third in a row at his home race on the streets of the Gold Coast, and the 200th race win in the history of Walkinshaw TWG Racing.

It is also a sensational bounce back for team and driver, after Mostert crashed heavily at the of the Bathurst 1000 a fortnight ago, the team having to prepare a spare chassis for him to race this weekend.
Mostert won both races on the Gold Coast in 2025, kickstarting his charge to his maiden Supercars title in the Supercars Finals.
Amid consistent rain, today’s race started behind the Safety Car, with the field taking the green flag on Lap 4 of 85.
Mostert passed pole sitter Broc Feeney at the end of the first lap at speed, and never looked back in a sensational performance.
Team 18’s David Reynolds finished second for his second podium of the season, while Championship leader Matt Payne finished third after a five-second penalty for excessive use of track limits.
Tomorrow is a new day, with more Supercars action on-track action beginning with Race 32 from 11:20 a.m. AEST.
The final race of the weekend begins at 2:45 p.m.
Following Sunday’s 85-lap race, the three lowest scoring Finals drivers will be eliminated from championship contention.
