Repco Supercars Championship leader Will Brown has continued his strong form this weekend by leading the final practice session of the weekend at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500.
Though Saturday morning’s rain gradually dissipated over the 40-minute session, slippery conditions persisted on the Sandown Raceway circuit, leading to numerous off-track excursions among the 26-car field.

The most severe moment came at the tail end of the session, when Will Davison skidded off the road at Turn 2, his No. 17 Shell V-Power Ford Mustang making moderate impact with the tyre barrier.
The Grove Racing duo of Richie Stanaway and Matt Payne finished the session second and third, with Brown’s closest championship rivals Broc Feeney and Chaz Mostert rounding out the top five.
The next time Supercars will hit the track will be for Boost Mobile Qualifying at 2:15 p.m. AEST, with the fastest 10 drivers from that session to contest the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout to determine pole position for Sunday’s 500-kilometre race.
