In his fifth year of trying, Carrara’s Broc Feeney has finally broken through to win at home on the streets of the Gold Coast.
The 24-year old Triple Eight driver dominated today’s 250-kilometre race from pole at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
Like fellow Gold Coaster Chaz Mostert yesterday, the win locks Feeney in to advancing in the Supercars Finals.
Reigning Bathurst 1000 winner Brodie Kostecki followed Feeney home in second, with Saturday’s winner Chaz Mostert third, with Toyota’s Ryan Wood and Andre Heimgartner rounding out the top five.

Mostert had let Wood past for third late in the race to help the Kiwi score enough points to get into the top seven and advance in the Supercars Finals.
However Anton De Pasquale, who suffered first lap damage, picked up enough spots to 14th to stay ahead of Wood on points to stay in the seventh and last Finals spot to advance.
Wood returned the final podium to Mostert on the final lap of the race, and finishes 18 points shy of De Pasquale at the end of the weekend.
“Obviously gutted,” commented Wood. “A big thank you to Chaz (Mostert) for trying everything to get me in. It was just not meant to be. A huge turn around by my team and a big thank you to them. It is going to be a hard one to swallow but we gave it a real crack today.”
It spells the end of the championship fight for Wood, Kai Allen, and Jack Le Brocq, who have all been eliminated from the Supercars Finals.
The next round of the Supercars Finals is the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, November 6-8, where the top seven will be trimmed back to four ahead of the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
